Sessional Worker

Pride Action North are regularly looking for sessional workers to support their groups and services. Below, is a typical description of the roles carried out by sessional youth workers. 

1. Plan and deliver face to face youth work within communities across Northumbria as directed.
2. Coordinate the delivery of Youth Work activities that support the development of new projects across Northumbria.
3. Support young people to become active in the development of their activities, as leaders and volunteers.
4. Support the development of marketing material for distribution internally and externally.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders, in developing new partnerships that support the development of Youth Work opportunities.
6. Build relationships and liaise with youth networks, schools, colleges and universities including other relevant institutions in raising the profile of Youth Work opportunities and actively encourage new participants across communities.
7. Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with data protection requirements
8. Be responsible for own continuing professional development (CPD), participate in team meetings, training, supervision and appraisal as agreed with your line-manager
9. Adhere to Northumberland Pride’s policies and procedures, promoting anti-discriminatory practice, inclusion and equity. Challenge unacceptable behaviour and promote inclusive attitudes.
10. Ensure the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Work within organisational policies and procedures, reporting and taking action as required.
11. Undertake other tasks as and when required in line with the level of responsibility of this post, determined by your line manager.
12. Carry out duties in line with Northumberland Pride’s Policies, Procedures and Code of Conduct including, but not limited to, health and safety and data protection.
