We are delighted to launch our inaugural Ball and Awards which will celebrate the progress of LGBTQIA+ communities AND our own remarkable development as a charity.

To be held at Grand Hotel Gosforth Park on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 to mark the start of LGBT+ History Month, you are invited to join in with a night packed full of entertainment, a three course meal, auction, drag performance, raffles, games galore, an exhibition of the Gilbert Baker Foundation’s and ReportOUT’s Flag in the Map Project and hear inspirational stories from a range of LGBTQIA+ people.

The event will run from 6.30pm to midnight.

The evening will also include an awards ceremony to recognise the amazing achievements of people across the region in promoting and supporting local LGBTQIA+ communities, making the North East a more inclusive, diverse and accepting place for all.

We are now seeking nominations in the following categories:

Lifetime Achievement Award
Business Award, sponsored by Newcastle Building Society
Third Sector Award, sponsored by Ability Consultants
Youth Achievement Award, sponsored by NE Youth
Ally Award, sponsored by Square One Law

We also ask you to EMBRACE THE VIBRANCY and request that you dress colourfully, incorporating one or more colours from the Progression Flag.

And make the most of the miniature bottles of alcohol located on each seat, generously donated by Silk Route Spirits.

Youth Achievement Award, sponsored by NE Youth: The Youth Achievement Award is a testament to the remarkable achievements and resilience of a young LGBTQIA+ individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, advocacy, or creativity. This award applauds their courage, determination, and positive influence within the LGBTQIA+ community. Despite their age, they will have already made meaningful contributions, inspiring and shaping a more inclusive world for all.
Ally Award, sponsored by Square One Law: The Ally Award is bestowed upon an individual or organisation that has shown exceptional support and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community. This award honours a dedicated ally who has consistently stood up for LGBTQIA+ rights, championing inclusivity, equality, and understanding. Their efforts contribute significantly to a world where allies and LGBTQIA+ people collaborate for a more harmonious and accepting society.
