International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBiT) takes places annually on May 17th globally.
The internationally observed day was created in 2004 to draw attention to the violence and discrimination experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex people, and all of those with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and sex characteristics.
This year’s theme calls for unity and aims to ensure “No one left behind: Equality, Freedom and Justice for all”
Pride Action North and ReportOUT are joining forces to deliver an event this year for IDAHOBiT.
You’ll be hearing a about the state of the nation, a global picture of resistance, a local perspective from Rainbow Home, mini workshops on how to challenge homophobia, biphobia and transphobia and queering the sustainable development goals to your organisational activities and outputs. We’ll also be asking you to write a ‘message on a postcard’.
Northumberland County Council are also kindly supporting the event.
